June 19, 2008 – Debbie Tyson, an ecologist with Passarella & Associates, has been elected to her third term as president of the Southwest Chapter of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals. Two other Passarella & Associates ecologists continue to serve on the board of directors: Jennifer Evans, who served two terms as secretary, was elected vice president, and Alicia Kruse was re-elected membership director.

In their professional capacities, the women provide environmental impact assessments, listed species surveys, wetland monitoring and other ecological services to clients in the public and private sectors. Tyson, a graduate of University of Florida, joined Passarella & Associates in 2005. Evans is a University of Delaware graduate, and Kruse holds a degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.

The local FAEP chapter, one of nine in the state, includes nearly 100 environmental professionals from Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Desoto, Sarasota, Hendry and Glades counties. It is affiliated with the National Association of Environmental Professionals and is charged with furthering the quality of the practice of the environmental professional in Florida.
