2008 – Debbie Tyson, an ecologist with Passarella &
Associates, has been elected to her third term as president of the
Southwest Chapter of the Florida Association of Environmental
Professionals. Two other Passarella & Associates ecologists continue
to serve on the board of directors: Jennifer Evans, who served two
terms as secretary, was elected vice president, and Alicia Kruse was
re-elected membership director.
In their professional capacities, the women
provide environmental impact assessments, listed species surveys,
wetland monitoring and other ecological services to clients in the
public and private sectors. Tyson, a graduate of University of
Florida, joined Passarella & Associates in 2005. Evans is a University
of Delaware graduate, and Kruse holds a degree from Florida Gulf Coast
University.
The local FAEP chapter, one of nine in the state,
includes nearly 100 environmental professionals from Lee, Collier,
Charlotte, Desoto, Sarasota, Hendry and Glades counties. It is
affiliated with the National Association of Environmental
Professionals and is charged with furthering the quality of the
practice of the environmental professional in Florida. The chapter
sponsors scientific and networking events, technical field trips and
