ECOLOGIST/BIOLOGIST

Passarella & Associates, Inc. is searching for a career-seeking, entry-level ecologist/biologist for our Fort Myers, Florida office. Applicant must possess, at a minimum, a bachelor's degree in natural sciences (preferably environmental studies, soil science, wetland science, botany, or wildlife related). Experience is preferred, but not necessary. Professional responsibilities to include, but not limited to, performing wetland jurisdictional determinations, habitat mapping, vegetation monitoring, protected species surveys, environmental permitting, mitigation analysis, and report writing.

Applicant must be comfortable working in the outdoor environment (including the ability to walk long distances and perform field work under various conditions such as heat and humidity) as well as an office setting. Applicant should be hard working, dependable, have a strong GPA, and be willing to work in a team setting.

DESIGNER/AUTOCAD TECHNICIAN

Passarella & Associates, Inc. is searching for a career-seeking, entry-level designer/AutoCAD technician for our South Carolina (Charleston area) office. Candidates should have a minimum of one year experience in drafting and/or design and are expected to provide visually appealing and technically accurate AutoCAD and GIS drawings. AutoCAD and/or ESRI GIS experience is desirable, but not necessary. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and possesses strong organizational and communication skills, is a team-player who can also work independently and also possesses problem-solving skills, has good time management skills and a desire for advancement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Learn basic elements of CAD/GIS
  • Scan large- and small-scale documents
  • Print, plot, and create PDFs
  • Download, file, and print photographs from an SD card
  • Create Photograph Documents
  • Work on introductory level drawings and plan sets
  • Create basic GIS maps
  • Sign, date, note revisions, and verify accuracy of notes on drawings

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure overall quality of work is consistent with department standards
  • Learn data management and support for GPS & Data Collection units
  • Become familiar with environmental terminology and agencies
  • Learn to prepare drawings and convert to GIS features
  • Learn to create an AutoCAD Map3D interface
  • Express ideas and contribute to compilation of knowledge base
  • Receive feedback from team members and clients and revise designs accordingly
  • Keep Project Managers up to date on the progress of the design and inform them when designs are complete
